This blog post examines the role of state policies in reducing systemic racism within the public health sector. The impacts of existing state policies, like declarations of racism as a public health crisis, are discussed and policy recommendations for state health officials, including formal acknowledgements, organizational change, and creation of partnerships, are also given.
