Using This Learning Series
This learning series provides an overview of public health advocacy, highlighting current priorities for advocates, equitable advocacy approaches and ways to advocate for the public’s health. It aims to equip users with tools and strategies needed for effective advocacy.
Who Is This For?
This learning series is for anyone and everyone, with Take Action Guides for community residents, students and young people, and APHA Affiliates alike. The learning series provides foundational information suitable for a variety of audiences, from experienced public health advocates, to those just beginning their advocacy journey.
The modules cover the basics of public health advocacy, equitable advocacy, public health policies, and guidance for getting started with advocacy. The modules include illustrative examples, success stories, and further reading. Reflection questions are included at the end of each module to help you absorb the content and apply it to your work as a public health steward.
