How Investing in Public Health Will Strengthen America’s Health, released in May 2022 by the Center for American Progress, considers the impacts of underinvestment in public health, and how better funding can bolster the public health workforce, data, technology, and infrastructure to meet existing needs and future threats. The report outlines the need for improved, sustainable, and reliable funding for public health in order to strengthen health, and posits specific recommendations to build a strong a responsive public health system comprising funding, preparedness, data, workforce, communications, standardization, and international risk categories.
