Description

Seven Days in June is a national week of action taking place June 1–7, 2026, bringing together local groups, advocates, labor unions, public health leaders, faith communities, and others to defend healthcare access, medical research, vaccines, treatment, and strong public health systems.

Across the country, communities will host events including town halls, panel discussions, candidate forums, demonstrations, marches, rallies, interfaith services, AIDS Memorial Quilt displays, social media campaigns, and candlelight vigils. A national moment of unity is planned for sunset on Friday, June 5, when communities are encouraged to gather for candlelight vigils honoring those already lost and those at risk if health funding is not restored.

The week of action calls on 2026 candidates for federal, state, and local office to clearly state how they will:

  • improve affordability and access to care and treatment
  • sustain and strengthen biomedical research
  • protect and modernize public health infrastructure
  • support seniors, veterans, rural communities, people with disabilities, working families, and others who rely on affordable healthcare

Seven Days in June aims to build public awareness of the human and economic consequences of major cuts to Medicaid, CDC, and NIH funding, and to affirm a shared principle: Health is primary.
